Kenneth, New Castle DE. I just received an order for canned products which will do me for a while. The information about keeping the basil in a jar was very helpful and I will order a fresh batch. The last basil I ordered was put to good use. I used some fresh and kept it in the refrig. I found a recipe to make basil oil on the Net and made a batch which has been great. The rest I bundeled with rubber bands in several packets and hung them on my kitchen cupboard until they dried. This worked very well and I only have a pinch left. Seemed to keep a nice flavor and I used it in dishes and soups. Thanks again.

Andy, Corning NY. About a year ago I purchased Importfood's wok and I love it!!! I use it just about every day. It seasoned quickly and deeply and is relatively stick proof. In addition, it's light weight, sturdy, has a large cooking area inside, a solid wooden handle, and great heat distribution. It also heats up very quickly. In short, it's just a pleasure to use!! The flat bottom is perfect for my gas burning stove and I don't need to worry about it tipping or food spilling out. A nice extra is that the Wok is really inexpensive when you compare it to others on the market. It's a steal for the price! What did I do with my old wok? I threw it away. The only bad news is that I no longer use my fancy and expensive pot and pan set that my wife and I got as a wedding gift! Thank you Importfood.com! I think I have entered Wok Heaven!.

I'm ordering the 8" as well now because it will be better for making large amounts and also for pounding things like dried watermelon seeds, which tend to jump and escape from the smaller mortar. I won't be surprised if in a little while I will be ordering the 9". That one is probably too heavy for me, but will be great for putting the menfolk to work once in a while -- and will make a great looking serving bowl. I have used suribachi, marble, ceramic, metal and wood mortars and pestles before and your wonderful granite ones are my favorites by far. No contest. Superb!

My latest creation with one of your products is just amazing (if I do say so myself!)...I steamed some little neck clams with fresh basil and tom yum paste...what a powerful flavor! I then used the resulting broth on rice noodles and threw in some other seafood. I feel like there are no limits to what can be done with your ingredients -- I have an entire Thai pantry now! I am always happy to let folks know when I am pleased with products, especially when they are accompanied by terrific customer service...unfortunately the latter is extremely hard to come by these days, so when I find it I am that much more appreciative! Your website has been a culinary godsend...it is so hard to find stuff in Asian grocers sometimes because the labels are not in English...I love that you guys have such great descriptions of your products, they have enabled me to try so many different things! I am a real fan of the Pho paste...I can't image ever trying to make the real thing myself, but this is so darn close, especially if you through some star anise in while it is simmering...I have bought it for friends who are huge, but finicky Pho fans and they too have been pretty impressed.

Brad, Midland TX. I have just tried the No. 1 Hand Brand red curry paste, and I am embarrased to say how much I ate last night. It is clearly superior to Mae Ploy, and the unit cost is about the same. The flavor is much fresher, brighter, and less grainy. The difference in complexity is like a $45.00 bottle of wine compared to a $14.00 bottle of wine. I also bought the green, and penang pastes, and cant wait to try them. The 8'' mortar and pestle I bought is such a great tool, and so much easier to use than the smaller ceramic ones, that now seem like a joke. Tra Chang fish sauce is definitely nicer and more refined than the Squid I was using. If you can't get Fresh Holy Basil for a dish like Chicken with Green Chili and Holy Basil, the Por Kwan Chili Paste with Holy Basil Leaves makes for a great substitute for the chilis and Holy Basil leaves. I acheived better than expected results using this, and my guests were wowed. I will submit the recipe if the owner wants it. The way your order is packed is excellent. By the way, the customer service I got whem I called was very informative and freindly.

I ordered it to crush up myssupplement tablets for easier and more thorough digestion. I had been using a coffee grinder but the tablets proved too much for it to grind causing it to wear out after a few months. The mortar and pestle is very thorough in pulverizing the tablets and takes very little time. The best part is that I do not have to worry about mechanical failure as I experienced with the other method.
