NEW CROP Thai Sticky Rice, Aroy-D brand
We just received a new shipment of the best quality Aroy-D sweet rice, the first arrival of New Crop 2010 harvest. As always with Aroy-D, the overall quality is perfect. Consistent grains, great flavor, and excellent packaging in a strong bag which ensures good arrival.

Sticky rice takes a bit of extra time to prepare, as it has to be soaked overnight before steaming in a special pot/basket combination. Many of our customers already have sticky rice steamers.

NEW: Mama Noodle Bowls
Mama is the most famous brand in Thailand for good reason, the flavor of their instant noodles is fantastic. In fact, people are always finding ways to improve their basic Mama such as turning them into a seafood salad, or a "poor man's gourmet".

Here we have a new style of Mama ready to eat in a nice modern paper bowl, not plastic or foam. The noodles are nice and wide, the same as our chantaboon rice stock. Serving size is 2.3 oz dry, which is larger than most Mama noodle packs which are about 1.8 oz. One bowl will really fill you up, and the flavor is good just like it comes. Add the four separate spice packets and garlic/onion oil, then add hot water, and let sit for 5 minutes. A little folding fork is included also.

Rich in flavor, but not spicy, similar to our very popular chan clear soup. To dress it up, add fresh basil if you'd like, or hard-boiled egg, or shrimp, or something elese you prefer.

Ingredients: rice flour, salt, palm oil, sugar, dried cabbage, dried carrot, msg, garlic powder, pepper powder, chile powder, dried leek. Product of Thailand.

Ready-made Tom Yum Soup, Aroy-D
We introduced Aroy-D red curry a few weeks ago, and customers have told us how much they like it. If you're planning to order with us, add some of this. We know you'll like the convenience, and taste is so good you'll want at least a few cans.

This tom yum soup is made with an authentic "Thai Taste", a strong blend of both sour and spicy. It is restaurant quality. The mushrooms are high-end "het nangfah" variety, nangfah means angel. Het nangfah mushrooms are sarjor-caju in English, we love them. Each can has a few of the mushrooms, kaffir lime leaf, whole red chile, and sliced galangal.

See our recipe for tom yum soup, made from scratch.

This premade soup from Aroy-D is quite good if you don't have a lot of time. It's the best premade tom yum we've tasted, from dependable Aroy-D (makers of Thailand's best coconut milk).

Add a bit of coconut milk after heating, if you like--we usually enjoy a teaspoon of coconut milk in our tom yum.

All you do is heat it over a stovetop, add meat of choice, or add nothing at all (as we did). Cook and serve with jasmine rice.

Ingredients: water, mushroom, lemongrass, soybean oil, sugar, shallot, galangal, chile, salt, coriander, red chile, kaffir lime leaves, citric acid, lime. Product of Thailand.

The spoon has a fluted handle perfect for removing seeds of a cucumber as well. The wide flat base allows for about 1.5 tablespoon capacity, is perfect for measuring. Spoons are 5.5" long. RECIPE CONTEST:
Win a Pansonic Rice Cooker. Just Use Kaffir Lime Leaf Powder

Anyone familiar with Thai cooking knows that kaffir lime is an essential ingredient in so many recipes. We've offered fresh kaffir lime leaves for years, and now for the first time we can offer kaffir lime leaf powder. This is fresh harvest, just picked and dried a few weeks ago. The powder retains all of the aroma and flavor of the fresh leaves.

We discovered that kaffir lime leaf powder adds wonderful flavor to all sorts of non-Thai recipes, such as bread, pasta, meatballs, it's even a very popular way of flavoring vodka.
Favorite Thai recipes using lime leaves:
Thai Prawn Soup With lemon grass, "Tom Yum Goong"
Thai Chicken Soup With Coconut Milk, "Tom Kha Gai"
Northern Thai Sausage "Sai Oua"
Thai Vegetarian Coconut Soup with Galanga and Squash
Red Chicken Curry, "Gaeng Phed Gai"
Thai Seafood Salad, "Yum Talay"
Order a package of this powder now, develop a recipe using it, then send us the recipe via email (whatever it is, however big or small). Next month we'll draw one name at random and send that person a free Panasonic rice cooker.

This contest is a few weeks old and we've only received 2 recipes, so your chance to win the rice cooker is good. Lots of people have ordered the lime leaf powder. Please email us by March 31st. Product of USA.

The BEST Fresh Red Thai Chile Peppers.
Same as offered two weeks ago, we just got a new shipment of the same fresh red chiles.

In 10 years of shipping fresh Thai produce we've never seen this quality. Usually our Thai chiles are green color with somewhat mild heat and flavor.

Once or twice a year a shipment arrives with excellent high-heat flavor and beautiful red color--that just happened last week. These fresh red chiles have a very strong, true Thai chile heat. Stems are nice and green, fresh pick. We shipped a few lbs to a chef who emailed back and said they were the best he's ever seen.

This is limited to just a few cases from one individual grower, so in a few days it will be all sold out. For our newsletter readers: we'd love for you to try these.

Below see some options we've put together. We'll ship all fresh produce via expedited 2-3 day Priority to ensure freshness. They freeze ok, for longer storage.
